Celebrate Navroze with a laughter riot in the city today
The annual Navroze play is one among the day’s many festivities that is eagerly awaited along with the new year’s feast. Any Bawa in the city would tell you the same. After a grand success of a sold out show the previous year, Rivka Irani, the director and writer of the Parsi play Double Trouble, and her group of friends have come together to make the audience laugh once more, today.

“The tickets to the show are sold out already. It is a full house,” says Fabio Chindhy, an actor from the play. The group has been friends for years now which makes it easy for them to act and come up with fun ways to improvise scenes in the play.
Double Trouble revolves around a bank heist and is bound to leave the audience roaring with laughter and tapping their feet to the upbeat musical numbers. The cast is pretty much the same as last year and their practice sessions have food, madness and a director doing her best to keep the insanity around her in control. The play is witty, packed with great acting and a story that will leave you guessing what happens next.

“It’s not just another day, it’s not just any bank and it’s not just an ordinary heist! With crazy, unpredictable situations and complete insanity on one stage, this play is sure to tickle your funny bone! With Double Trouble, it’s double the fun, double the laughter and double the shenanigans,” says Rivka, as she speaks about the play.
The play will see Zal Cursetji, Darayus Bathena, Amay Kothari, Fabio Chindhy, Ayesha Irani, Tanaaz Kothari, Rustom Irani, Keith Pinto, Arash Shah, Vijay Bharwani, Jessica Chindhy and Areez Madraswalla acting on stage. Tanaaz says, “I am acting with the same set of people and it is a lot of fun. Rivka has done a great job of giving every character a fair share of dialogues.”
Double Trouble will be staged today at Mazda Hall, Dastur Hormazdiar Co-ed High School; Timing: 6.30 pm
